Just a few notes:

Anyone interested in learning how to ride should realize that the first lesson may not get as far as mounting and walking around the ring. Basic skills have to be obtained before speed, distance, and other freedoms can be practiced. Pleasure riding demands a basic knowledge and experience of horseback riding. If there is any concern that pleasure rider has not been up front about his/her abilities, we will withdraw the offer to ride. Please remember that our concerns are for the students/riders and the horses; it is the wish of the instructors/staff/owner to do whatever is necessary to keep them safe.

The Horses will be groomed and tacked up for you or with you, as par your instructor. It is important that you arrive for your scheduled lesson/pleasure ride a few minutes ahead of time, so that we can start on time. It is the responsibility of the student to call the Ranch office (or their instructor) in advance to cancel a lesson. Missed lessons may be made up provided a 24-hour advance notice is given. It is the responsibility of the student to arrange for a make-up lesson with their instructor. There are no bathroom facilities, water fountains, or vending machines at the Ranch, so be forewarned. Students participating in lessons should NOT assume that their class is canceled in the event of bad weather. Students may have the choice of an indoor "barn" lesson, with the approval of their instructor, in case of bad weather. Classes are only canceled when the instructor notifies you of such a cancellation. All students and pleasure riders are required to sign an Agreement and Liability Release Form at least once a year. Parents' or Riders' signatures must either be witnessed by a Ranch staff member or be notarized. Receipt of this agreement, properly signed, is required prior to the student's participation in riding lessons or person's being able to free ride. It is the responsibility of the student/pleasure rider to comply with this agreement and directions given by instructors/staff/owner.
